I'm in the same boat. Love the Tivo remote.
I don't know about the stream, but I paired my Vox remote. I tried to map the buttons with button mapper, but some buttons are either not RF or not recognized (TiVo button, Live TV, info).

That would be cool, I’d love to know if it works.
In the meantime why not install the Google TV interface on the TiVo 4K stream?

Just find how to put it to pairing mode
I've paired the TiVo STREAM remote with other Android TV devices. I haven't tried mapping all of the buttons yet (TiVo, info, and one or two others), but the number pad works, navigation works, channel and volume works (it will default to Android syste volume and not IR volume control).
I am the same, love the new Chromecast and Love the TiVo remote. I tried to pair them (which took about 50 tried for the CCWGTV to recognize the remote) but it seems that the TiVo remote gets it's programming from the TiVo Stream so when I paired it to the Chromecast, the remote lost the ability to do IR (no TV on/off, no volume, etc)
It's not better. Over 50% of the recommended content is content I would have to pay for, completely ignoring the services I do pay for. Everything is so aggregated there aren't simple rows for the actual apps I use. HBO must be paying Google a fortune to have such prominent placement of its content. And I deleted YouTube but still get a f'ton of YouTube recommendations I don't want. It's more annoying than anything.
I migrated Sabrina to the theater room since it'll see less use, and use my TS4k on my living room TV and projector.
I'd simply disable all the stream/tivo related apps and call it a day. Though the stream app has improved so it might end up being more useful than Google's take on it.
