Anyine in Australia managed to install the Google tv UI (Launcherx) and not need a VPN?
I've tried the apks in the usual channels around, but also tried the launcherx and base.apk from my Australian delivered chromecast.
Seems with all versions I still need a VPN for launcherx to load the home page properly.
Seems odd seeing that it's released here now, so not sure why there is still a geo lock to the US even with my own apk.
Anyone managed to install launcherx without having to use a VPN? I can turn the VPN off after the page loads, and then the advertising row at the top and the cost of movies resorts back to Australian only sources and AUD but it seems to eventually go back to error loading the home properly and I have to reactivate the VPN.
I want to get my Vodafone TV box with this new UI as it has a built in tuner as I will offload it to the inlaws who need a tuner (I use hdhomerun) and have the nice new interface with all sources showing.
I have the Vodafone TV and the new launcher (and Google app) are working perfectly.
With that said, I have a US address listed in my Play Store payment methods which has allowed me to access Stadia (it only runs on my phone with a VPN and via mobile data) so that might be why it works.
