Bestbuy Warranty?

by oldmanonsilvercreek

Not sure how to ask this but will try my best- OK, when I purchased my SonyX900H and my Vizio PQX I bought the bestbuy two year warranty for each of them individually. In other words I have a two year warranty on the Sony and another two year warranty on the Vizio.

Seeing that the Vizio and Sony each come with a one year warranty. My question is what happens if something goes wrong with one of them within the first year?

I fear if I contact bestbuy they are going to tell me to contact Vizio or if its the Sony, they are going to tell me to contact Sony since each of them have a one year warranty.

I understand whatever is wrong should be covered with that one year warranty from the manufacturer but then whats the purpose of me paying bestbuy for two years if they won't do anything during the first year till after the manufacturer warranty runs out? Seems i would be paying bestbuy for nothing the first year . Right? Wrong?..

Fortunately nothing is wrong with either of my tvs but was just thinking what would happen, who to contact if something did within this first year of ownership.

I just fear bestbuy will say contact your manufacturer, it is covered, which would be true but than why in the world did I pay you guys for 2 years when you will only cover me during the second year?

Hope this makes sense and hope you can clear this up for me because right now I'm confused as to why I would pay them this first year.

Sorry I never had a decent tv before that required a warranty. Had enough money for 2 the first time in my life, so I never thought or knew anything about how this warranty thing worked before.

Thanks....

I did this in January. So they'll set you up an appointment with geek squad to diagnose it. If they can repair it theyll do that if not they just give you the same model tv. If for some reason they don't carry that tv anymore in store or online, then they'll refund the purchase amount.

I bought an extended warrenty from Lowe’s for a lawn mower a few years ago. I had an issue within the manufactures warranty and I just took it to Lowe’s and they got it fixed. I’d assume Best Buy would do similar for their electronic warranties.
