Did anyone get an update for Android 9 for their MiBox 3? I got the update and when it booted up for the first time. Recovery Mode came on. So I choose the reboot option than I choose to factory reboot it. and When I install all the programs back on. Some things did not work. Kodi all the movie images were blank or incorrect. Mobdro would not open the stream.
So I was wondering if I was the only one having this problem or others have an related issue.
Mine is having connectivity issues since the update. My TV keeps getting this blackouts because the mi box doesn't set the resolution correctly and I haven't been able to find a solution. The box is just useless right now.
I've also started having issues since the Android TV 9 update. Interestingly, they are the exact same issues I have been having with my Android TV 9 smart TV from Hisense. I used to blame Hisense, but now I'm pretty sure these are all Android TV bugs.
Got the update, wifi is fucked and harmony remote isn't waking it up anymore. Wish I hadn't installed it.
I don’t use Kodi or Plex so I can’t comment on the bugs, sorry. After the update I had the Mi Box remote disconnect by itself while the box was asleep, but only once.
I was most disappointed by the half-baked DS4 support. Was eager to finally play my games on Steam Link and Retroarch wirelessly but the dang controller just won’t pair. Tried both V1 and V2 controllers, no dice. Back to wired USB.
Everything else is working just like before the update for me. YouTube and Netflix run fine, Retroarch emulates PS1 pretty smooth. No breaking bugs so far but still bitter by the DS4 support.
Works wonderful after latest update, auto res and hz is automatic and perfect with tivimate,plex,kodi, cec just works now, everything I use it for has so far been 100% success
Broke live tv playback, not visible to cast to when asleep, no hulu app (have to sideload), other random things. Gave up on both of mine and replaced them with the new chromecasts
Main problem I've had with it is not waking from deep sleep - I've had to manually power cycle it each morning since the update.
Only advantage I've seen so far is that screen overlay clock apps can work again since there are now explicit settings for overlay permission.
