Try deleting app data.
I had to go into Play Store and search for Google TV. When the search results came up, it already had the "Open" option as if it were already installed when in fact, it was still labelled the older way (under the P's) in my apps drawer.
Once I opened the app thru Play Store, it not only came up with a new splash screen and description pages for Google TV, but the shortcut in my app drawer changed to GoogleTV and was repositioned according to the new name as well (now under G) as well. HTH.
Just got mine on my phone tonight!
I just updated everything on the Google Pixel 6 Pro here in Canada and It also still shows as Google Movies & TV (Old App) and opens the old app style too, has anyone found a fix for this yet?

Honestly the inside of the app is almost exactly the same anyway, mostly just a rebrand so far. If they make it more like the new chromecast then it'll be good. As it is right now, thumbs up and down don't even seem to stay once I close the app, hope they fix that too.
