Is there any way to get a controller working on the new Chromecast/Google TV hardware?

As per the title, I just got the new Chromecast/Google TV and I noticed I can install Android games from the Play Store on it. I found that I can't really play as the only button that works in-game is the confirm button. Does anyone know how I can get a controller to work on it? Is it possible at this time? I'd love to use my XBOX/Switch Pro controller.

If you're using the new Chromecast any Bluetooth controller should work, heck even USB if you buy a USB adapter for it, with Bluetooth just go into the CC's remote settings and add the controller from there.

Can the Nvidia Shield game controller 1st Gen work with Chromecast Google TV? It doesn't have Bluetooth and works on WiFi Direct connection.
