Unless the Android device is highly optimised, like the Amazon Fire TV's you really want an Android device with minimum 2GB RAM.
Currently in the 1080p budget space the new Amazon Fire TV Stick (lite) is the best bang for the buck, much faster vs anything coming from Xiaomi in stick form.
The older Xiaomi Mi Box S is a better buy vs the new 1GB RAM underpowered Xiaomi Stick.
The new 2020 Google TV dongle is faster again vs any of the above and will be well supported Firmware wise.
The new Chromecast with Google TV, blows the heck out of the Xiaomi TV Stick.
