One thing I haven't seen talked about with the new Chromecast is you can disable all of the recommendations by enabling "Apps only mode". It does still show one banner at the top but all of the other tabs and recommendations are removed.

Any remote shortcuts like long press home to he app drawer or double press home to the recents screen? Do either of those places exist in this UI?
Take note also, that Google Assistant might be disabled toggling 'Apps only mode' on...
Oh, nice!.
Can you take a better picture by going away a little bit from the TV so we can see the whole screen?.
Thanks.
Thanks for that information! I'm generally not a fan of streaming devices giving me recommendations. The Apps only mode looks perfect.
How do you turn this "apps only mode" on?
edit nevermind i found it.
But you do subscribed to HboMax?
Nice! Didn't know this was possible. I just wish it would show all the apps on one page in this mode.
Does this still work ? Just got a new Chromecast and if I enable Apps only mode and choose continue nothing changes in the main menu... even after a reboot...but it does show as enabled in the account settings...
Can you upload the Google home tv apk ? Can use a file explorer to get the file from the tv.
Do you know if the Live channels app is supported?
