Dumb question. Is the Nvidia Shield (2019) considered Google TV/will get updated to Google TV? Or is it just exclusive to that new Chromecast?
You can get a lot of information in this thread below. This guy bought it already. https://www.reddit.com/r/googlehome/comments/iz50fb/scrolling_through_the_chromecast_ui_for_those/
Same release date as the Fire TV Stick Lite.
Any specs?
7 out of 12 of those services on the front box are not available in my country.
Does it come in black?
I just placed my order for the New Chromecast via Walmart app. Says I can pickup by Tuesday, a day early Wooh!
Google play movies not on the box?
Does the remote have IR? The Nvidia Shield's remote does, which lets it control my TV. This remote has a TV input button, and a TV power button, but without IR it must be using HDMI-CEC which none of my TVs support.
Even though I have a 2017 Sony TV with Android TV ( which is slow and wifi is dying) and have Apple TV 4. I will for sure be getting is to replace the Android TV in the built in tv. Thanks for the info.
Stadia?
Shouldn't it be Google TV with Chromecast?
Is this AndroidTV reskinned? I'm wondering if existing AndroidTV apps will all work.
Do people think this is a better option then the shield tv 2018? One difference is dolby vision support.
will this be better than the FireStick4K?
will it be able to bitstream HD audio?
will UI be faster?
I was about to buy Mi TV stick, but I guess this is a better option.
I am definitely getting one. Just wish it worked with ATT TV Now app instead of having to cast it.
Any one know how to remove. The rent or buy episodes from the menu. I hate that it recommends show to buy that are not on any of the streaming service. I am already paying for.
It's like I'm in a weird grey area with streaming devices. On one hand, google tv supports HBO max ( which I love) but no Att tv. With the firestick, it's vice versa. Smh crazy.
Where is the USB-C port on this thing? Does it support USB HUBs / Ethernet adapters?
Did they mention it's price?
Is this price of this known yet. I need a new CC for a new TV we just got.
TV Volume and power on remote?
looking forward to try it... one thing I am curious about is that will it work without a remote (if you lose the remote). that the old chromecast.
The new branding brings back painful memories of my Sony Google TV being discontinued a year after I bought it. I liked the original hockey puck Chromecast but like everyone, the remote stopped working. Now I use a Chromebox connected to my TV and just add my streaming bookmarks to the taskbar along with a small keyboard and touchpad.
pog
So that’s why they are never fixing the Mibox bugs... it’s a dead product
Of its just 49.99 then does it support 4k hdr? Of will there be an ultra that is more expensive for 4k?
It won't beat the Firestick 4K. Google is slipping way behind Amazon these days.
Garbage
It's intresting to see that it's marketed as Chromecast first, and then the Google TV is second. I guess it's bc Chromecast is a well known feature, and Google TV is not.
