Just loaded this app and notice on startup it asks for Google credentials. I understand that my viewing histroy and preferences will only be save with using an account.
But always hesitant to give my credentials to 3rd part apps.
Does anyone know how safe this app is?
Just skip the login. That's what i do. In fact, it's a plus point since tv is watched by everyone in the house, so it isn't affecting my mobile YouTube homepage and recommendations.

Just use a backup Google account used for nothing but YouTube.
Just watch you dont get struck by lightning , end up in the old wild west.
I've used it several months now, never had any problems. In fact, I love it. Can't imagine having to live with all the ad crap ever again.
I looked up if smart youtube tv is safe as well, but hearing from all these people is making me trust the developer so I just signed in, it works amazing btw, it even has built in sponsorblock, it's the best youtube app ever.
It's safe, no need to hide your login. It scrapes the web interface and presents it in app form, it's also open source and why you don't have to worry about your login as the code has been audited by many people.
