I see that people love this app but I am really used to queuing up a quick playlist on my phone and then casting it. Would I be able to do that? Would I have to disable the stock YT app or something?

When you cast a YouTube video it's not using YouTube (or SYT) even if stock YouTube is disabled, it uses the Chromecast function of your TV so there are still ads.
Even when I cast from Vanced there are ads between the videos in the list I'm casting.
I haven't tried this but you may be able to disable chromecast and link Smart YouTube TV through the settings > Link with TV code method and not have ads.

I just did this and it worked, you don't have to disable chromecast.
Link Smart YouTube TV to YouTube on your phone like I said above using the code method, then when you click the cast button on your phone you will have a new option "YouTube on TV" so just choose that and it will be Smart YouTube TV
