Or you can simply access the Google play store from a browser and ask to install the app in your shield tv. Installed this way in my mi box.

I do something similar with the 2017 Shield TV AND controller.

  1. I own the game on the Google Play Store.
  2. Copy the APK from my phone and sideload it.
  3. Because I own it on the Play Store it passes the licence check. Don't forget to set your TV to 'Game mode' to cut down on input lag.
