On Xbox you can a Dolby Access app to get Dolby Atmos with any headset even if it doesn't come with it built-in. Is there something like this on Nvidia Shield TV Pro/Android tv?
I'm going to be using Bose NC 700's which I like but doesn't have built-in Dolby Atmos, at least I don't think it does.
I did find Dolby Atmos apk through a google search but I don't know if that's just meant for android phones or will work with android tvs as well.
In the Android TV hardware ecoSystem the underlying ARM based chipset has to be Dolby Certified prior to device sale to the public. That is how it works.
It’s also why you see 2015/2017 Nvidia Shields not being able to get Netflix Atmos out of their devices or downmix DD+ audio into DD only with Apps like Netflix and Prime, for use on older audio equipment that only supports DD audio.
