I've made another post but since then I've had another question , a more specific one. I would like to find a nice android tv box but my main focus would be game streaming and not local gaming on it. There's quite a difference. When we talk about gaming and tv box we think instantly of the Nvidia shield which makes sense, except when streaming games either for my own PC or from servers, from my understanding raw power won't necessarily mean much better performance at all.
In a scenario in which I specifically want something decent for streaming games from the cloud or my own PC , what specs should a look for in an android box? I don't think that the gaming focus of the Nvidia shield tv and its price would make a massive difference in my situation.
Looking to discuss this further because I lack the knowledge of this android box world .
There are specs that aren’t necessarily going to be advertised because they are simply not useful to 99% of people.
As someone who’s been streaming games both local and cloud I can tell you that the Shield is quite possibly the best at it
I have a MiBox and a Shield and they are both capable of decoding 4K h265. However the Shield can decode at as low as 4ms sometimes and the miBox can be anywhere from 10-60ms to decode.
Unfortunately manufacturers don’t include info like that on the box because it only matters to maybe a few hundred people in total. So trial and error is the only real way to know
TLDR: just get a Shield
