Button Mapper App.

Button mapper doesn't work with prime and Netflix buttons. These buttons are not mappable

Hi, did you try Tasker? I was facing a similar issue with Google Assistant. After disabling 'Google' app the button didn't work and wasn't recognized by Button Mapper anymore. However, I found a solution for my use-case on xda-developers and I think it will also work for yours. But be aware that you probably have to permanently disable/uninstall Netflix & Prime Video. This method uses Tasker and utilizes the logcat trigger. You'll find a detailed guide on xda: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/themes/assistant-button-customizable-root-t3999701/amp/ (Somehow I wasn't able to directly link the post from my phone but it should be the second post by cavalloz)

For me the log messages where different than in the xda thread, so you may have to adjust the search. Good luck and please let me know if it worked out for you.

Edit: Tasker is a paid app, but worth the money. It will probably not show up in TV play store, so you have to sideload it. You also need an (air)mouse to properly use Tasker on AndroidTV.

Hello, I finally found a solution to map the following buttons on Mi TVs-

  1. Mi PatchWall button
  2. Netflix Button
  3. Prime Video button

Please follow the steps below-

  1. Map the buttons as usual in Button Mapper.
  2. Go to Settings > Apps > Special App Access > Usage Access > Enable Button Mapper.
  3. Go to Settings > Apps > Special App Access > Modify System Settings > Enable Button Mapper.

After this, your buttons should work as you set in the Button Mapper app WITHOUT launching the app the button was made for. I'll also make a separate post with this information for other people searching for a solution.

EDIT: Only single press and double press mapping works, long press ends up opening the intended app.
