Nvidia Shield Finally with SMB3 Support [Here is how to]

by vampgirlz

Yes, you can finally say goodbye to the old and insecure SMB1 and start using SMB3 instead.

Accessing your Nvidia shield drive is now fast and easy from you PC .

Simply go to "Device Preferences" then "Storage" and enable: "Transfer files over local network".

In your windows file explorer enter the shield address like this:

\\Yourshieldip EX: \\ 192.168.1.100

\192.168.1.100 <---This is my shield ip, enter yours

I put in "\yours" and it didn't work.

Can I use my own password now for SMB3 sharing on SHIELD?

I'm connecting over WiFi on the local network and still getting the same speeds I was with SMB1 (~3Mbps). I disabled SMB1. What else do I need to do? I was really looking forward to SMB3 speeds to not have to use FTP any longer.
