What is preventing them from supporting addition of a web cam to an Android TV device. I thought they would have done it by now.
I’ve not worked out why someone at Microsoft, Zoom or Google hasn’t done this with the teams/zoom or google meet app yet - a decent yet cheap meeting room solution with a google android tv and USB connected webcam would work amazingly well. And at home it would be even better :)
Unlike Jami or TrueConf, this still doesn't support a UVC webcam connected to the Android TV device, it just cast the other's party video feed to the TV while we are heard and seen from the computer's webcam and microphone 👎🏼
It is like similar to YT streaming, the feed is fetched directly from cloud to your TV, with Android mobile as remote. Still highly limited - no support for USB camera connected to TV since it is not an Android TV app. The major drawback of this system is: you will be facing the TV to view other side, end up with keeping mobile at TV's distance and height to show you to other side, which again ends up at distant mic (mobile), ends up not audible to other side, ends up.....!
If teams, Skype and zoom start supporting this, and Google adds a good camera+mic to the device, making it like Skype cams that you can hang on top of TVs, they'd make a strike in the video conferencing market
