I was looking for a launcher alternative as well since is already confirmed they are on the Shield.
Seems my next device would be an Apple TV.
I don't get why people are so pissed.
Apple TV has the same ads for iTunes content at the top. Fire TV OS has ads all over the damn place, EVERYWHERE. Roku has ads off to the side and on the bottom of the interface. My Samsung TV has ads when I go to open an app or change inputs.
I mean, annoying? Sure, but damn.
I'll just ignore it once it comes the Shield. 3rd party launchers while they can be interesting at first just aren't very good experiences over the long haul. And it's not like I spent all that much time on the home screen anyway. In any event I'm not crying about it until it actually happens.
