Hi guys,
I've been looking for a cheap android tv box with USB 3.0. It's kind of hard to find a Mi Box here in Canada but I came across these MeCool devices.
In most threads I see here, people suggest the only 2 legitimate Android TV boxes are the Mi Box and Nvidia Shield and every other chinese box is not running the legit Android TV. But the MeCool KM1 is said to be running Android TV and not just some android skin and it's also Google certified and supports HD amazon prime streaming, but no netflix. The KM3 is similar but doesn't do amazon prime.
Does anyone have one of these devices and have any feedback on them? Can it run local 4k files smoothly? How good can it stream over WiFi? Any lag or huge issues I should know about?
It does support Prime Video, who told you it isn't?
Yes.
I cannot speak for those two but I had the KM9 Pro Classic and the WiFi was BAD!, although I ignore if the current Android 10 firmware available for it fixes the issue. By the way, Android 10 is also available for the KM3, not yet for the KM1.
Besides the WiFi issue on the KM9, everything else was smooth thanks to the S905X2 SoC, which is also in the KM3. The KM1 has the S905X3 which is a better upgrade over the X2.
