chromecast doesn't help as it just displays whatever that's there on google chrome.

You could try sideloading miracast.apk, although it might have to be installed as a system app, there might be a 3rd party screen casting app like allsharecast ect...
Just do chrome desktop cast as told below.
You can plug out that Chrome Tab to new window.
Under Chrome press the cast button, and in the menu of there to cast there should be an option of what it's casting. Select "Cast desktop" and it will cast the desktop instead of just Chrome.
