I have a Sony Android TV and have an issue with the Amazon Prime Video app I was wondering if other users had.
I cannot get the TV to give a background to any subtitle style. I've tried configuring a custom style but neither the default nor my custom style have the requested transparent black background. Is this just a bug in their android app or is it my TV specifically the app doesn't like?
Yep, this has been annoying me too recently (Shield TV). I use the yellow subtitles at the moment as they're the most visible.
Same issue here on a Philips Android Tv. The preview of some titles make it clear it should be present but it actually never is applied. Seems to be a big on their side and not android TV specific. Let us know if you were able to reach amazon for this and their answer 😬
If you chromecast from your smartphone to your Android TV, you can set up much better looking subtitles.
I think you can only really change the style of subtitles through the browser on desktop (maybe mobile) https://www.primevideo.com/settings/subtitles/ref=atv_set_subtitles
You customize it the way you like, save it and the style will appear in all your devices.
