I hope anyone thinking about one of these takes a look at the history of this company's support for their previous AndroidTV products. (Hint: it's not good.)

When I read the headline I figured it had to be a mistake and that the device was indeed a 4k capable device. However to my surprise, this device is only 1080p.

In 2020, no company should be releasing a 1080p device. Everything released now is 4k ready. It still would work just fine on your 1080p display if you don't have 4k. This thing is obsolete on arrival.

While watching some videos on YouTube I found out the Dolby Digital Plus to Dolby Digital conversion is not available, otherwise the "5.1" logo on Netflix would be always visible (like the Nvidia Shield 2019), it only supports Dolby Digital Plus passthrough unfortunately.

It can't compete with the Fire TV Stick in that regard, so let's see if the new Chromecast device stacks up.

I wonder if it runs Android 9 and if Hulu is still playing hard to get.

I'm waiting for Google's very own Sabrina dongle cause I have the original mi box and that thing needs to be rebooted everyday from not waking up or just freezing..idk if the mi box s fixed those issues but I'm just going to stay away from xiaomi Android TV offerings

For me it's something to get instead of a chromecast, though would have loved if it had 2 gb RAM.

Price is not right... 25 USD was ok price for this.

I really have no idea about this.

NBA app is supposed to be compatible with Android TV, so it means I can download it on the stick right?

IF this device carries model number MDZ-24-AA, it is definitely not intended for use outside of PRC.
The final -AA designates a China home market device.

Can anyone confirm it supports full official AndroidTV google play store?
That would be an anomaly for a Chinese market device.

More likely the 2/8GB version that supports 4K will be the model that is for international distribution.

All is still speculation until official word comes from Xiaomi in an official release about these dongles.
