If I was you I would buy a brand new tv. Your model, same as mine, is old and laggy and I would spent nothing on this.
After 4 years. This had happened twice. First one was still in warranty. Now no more warranty. Tech support asked for a Whatsapp picture and she said that according to the technician, it'll cost $1100 SGD to replace the display.
1.5 years ago, when this happened, they replaced the TCON Board. It had the same symptoms with this now. Sony will come and charge us $53.50 to check and if it was TCON Board, they'll charge $300+ SGD. Transport fee $53.50 will be waived off.
How do I know they are not playing me? They could just say that they replace the display and charge $1100. Not that I want to pay that amount of money. I'm hoping that it would be the TCON Board. Worse come to worst, I'll lose $53.50.
Any input?
Look up tv model on shopjimmy and replace that tcon board. It’s really not that difficult
It's very easy to replace, and cheap if shop Jimmy.com has the part.
Buy a new TV.
