I would bet that you can make it "work". It will take searching for the apk file sideloading as its not on the store, physically adding a usb camera, probably forcing orientation with another app, and maybe using another app to help remap controls? And then when it works it will be buggy for a reason you haven't thought of.

I haven't done it, but this seems like a decent expectation to plan for. I have sideloaded a bunch of apps and most of this happens with apps that most people aren't already talking about working on this sub. You are forcing an app designed for a phone and to work with touch to work on a larger different shaped screen an to work with a TV remote.

I believe somewhere on this sub or another sub... I read someone say that facebook messenger works but duo worked a lot better (no surprise there I guess?). I also recall them saying that in both cases, since it thinks you are on a phone, it only can show 4 people at once in a group call, so it wastes the giant screen.

If this is a must-have then maybe an android tv is not the device you want? I cannot imagine ever wanting to have a video chat locked to a giant TV on the wall or at one end of a room as opposed to a laptop unless maybe I didn't own a laptop OR TV already and have zero other need for a laptop at all.
