Has anyone tried with a Mi Box S yet?
Unless there is an update to the Chromecast application beta in the Play store that I am not getting in Canada the Mi Box 3 will play for a millisecond and the load for 3 seconds and repeat causing the home speakers to do the same.
It won't install, not sure why. Can the APK (Chromecast Built-in) over the existing/installed version, or should I delete the old version first? Hv had so many issues w/ccbi, I'm gun shy these days. Thanks all.
Thanks for info. I really hope this time will remain active this function. Now all my 4 Android TV are singing in the same rythm.
Not on my mibox3 or Km9Pro so far
My Sony A8G OLED is able to be added to a group now which is great since I have audio via a Sonos Beam to the TV. I did have to restart the TV for it to work.
Do I just join the Chromecast beta and it will be pushed out automatically to my Nvidia Shield and MiBox S? Or do I have to keep pushing refresh on the Google Play Store for an update to my Chromecast app?
Edit: You must be signed up for the Chromecast beta in addition to the Google Home beta...article was not clear: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.google.android.apps.mediashell/join
My Philips PUS8804 wasn't showing to add sadly until reboot. Seems to work now.
It works on my Shield TV, but now my TV and receiver don't turn on when I start casting, need to press power on the remote. Music is already playing as soon as things turn on.
Got this working for casting music. I was hoping this would add all speakers for a surround sound when watching YouTube or Netflix. Is there a way for setting up Android TV to use speaker group as default speaker option?
Not working for my Sony Android TV -- Chromecast and Home beta installed, TV rebooted.
Any other tricks to get this working?
Is this still working for anyone? Mine's broken again on both shield tv...
I swear if they break this one more dang time, I'm going to be done with Google Home/Assistant. Why such a trivial feature has been missing for years is beyond me.
