Is it possible to have the "screensaver" run but disable the "chromecast built-in" (and possibly all the text) banner it displays?
I'm wondering how good this could be for an oled as the same text would be displayed in a constant spot if the TV is kept on. the screensaver for long periods of time.
yeah you definitely dont want that on the screen for long periods, i had similar with a plasma tv with the M from AM/PM of the timestamp burnt in
i'm not sure about the default screen saver but i use 'photo gallery and screensaver' which lets you somewhat customise (or more importantly turn off) any text displayed
Yeah I didn't like that either, so I leave Kodi running with a modified Multi Slideshow screensave so it cycles through my movie backdrops.
(I modified the Settings.XML for the AddOn so that the image stays longer on the screen... Also think I made it so the effect shows up faster)

Try a good screen saver instead of the built in one. The best one I know is Photo Gallery and Screensaver. The name is awful but the app is superb. I use Aerial screensaver option and it is absolutely gorgeous.
