Hi I have a Nvidia shield tv pro 2019. with the new shield controller. I am trying to charge the shield controller. It’s been charging for an hour now and the percentage has not moved. How long does it take to change the new shield controller? do I need to have my Nvidia shield tv pro 2019 on to charge the controller or no ? Thank you very much 
Make sure the controller is updated to the latest firmware, it is done wirelessly through the shield.

It takes however long nvidia says to charge it the first time do us a favor and read the instructions.
I assume you're talking about the 2017 controller since there hasn't been a new one since then. You may just need to re-pair it to the Shield to see the percentage update. If you're charging it with your computer for instance and it's not actively controlling the Shield, it may not get a reading. Try unplugging it and re-pairing it and see if the percentage updates.
