HDR to SDR question

What is this display option for? Should I enable it for my tv for better quality? Please I would really appreciate if you guys help me with this.

If your TV has no HDR10 support, it's the only way to view HDR movies without artifacts.

For playing back 4K HDR video content with the color converted to SDR for viewing on your SDR only TV.

HDR > SDR picture output results usually look pretty ordinary in my experience.

If you want HDR to look correct buy a HDR TV.

You can take the often higher bitrate HDR version of the movie tone mapped by your TV to SDR if your TV isn't HDR capable.
