The AMLogic S905X2 chipset in the TiVo Stream is a generation ahead of the 2015 S905X in the Mi Boxes.
Included in the S905X2 is a new, more powerful ARM Mali G31 GPU that is definitely better vs the old Mali-450 in the S905X.
Then you also get better AC MIMO WiFi, faster DDR4 RAM, faster storage, USB-C....
It all adds up... plus the 12nm S905X2 uses less power so runs cooler.

Does xcloud work without lag?
They use the same cpu but the mibox s uses a GPU that is practically a decade old. The stream has relatively new GPU. It's faster but not too much faster.
I have both and I prefer the Tivo Stream 4k. To me it seems zippier and more fluid movement compared to the Mi box S. If you have the choice I recommend go with the Tivo Stream 4k. Both allow usb but the stream is newer with usb C. I bought a usb C to usb 3.0 adapter and works great
