i need help to buy my first tv box! Tx, mx or mi

by sulakevinicius

So here in brazil i see some options avaiable Tanix Tx, Mx series and xiaomi.
Iam complete new on hardware but i know everything about apps, video streaming and other stuff.
The problem is: Tanix tx3 has bluetooh but only 2gb ram, Mx9 has 4gb ram for the same price and some users comment about the durability not being so good, unfortunately mi box has 2gb and cost 2x more.

I have a sony tv bravia 42" that i want to watch 4k movies and play shadowverse/autochess only.
Could you help me decide or giving me tips?!

there is a reason the mi tv is 2x more: i.e. better support software, it has chomecast built in and has the required certification. the software is also android tv rather than modified android for phones. sometimes the mx and tx do not have the necessary drm to watch netflix and prime video

if you dont care about prime video and netflix and you are just playing files from the usb/plex then just get whatever is the cheapest as any recent device would be able to decode

there is a youtube channel called chigz tech review that anaylises the boxes. watch his video about the boxes and his charts:

The answers is very simple. If you are a guy who are paying for services and you will pay for Netflix, HBO Go or any other streaming services, then Mibox S is for you. I have 2 Chromecast first generation and 3 Miboxs and one Sony Android TV. (I simply love Android TV OS). IF you dont want to make subscriptions on this type of services, and you are a warez guy who use torrents, then Android TV OS is not for you. Simply buy whatever Android box that you want. Soon or later, after you discover Android TV, probably you will buy one. Like me. A have 4 other Android boxes with two finger of dust on them.

Android TV OS (Mibox and any other CERTIFIED devices, dont need more the 8GB memory and 2 GB RAM. Primary role is for media streaming.

I also think Mi Box is good but there are so many other cheaper options out there. youtube gives lots of good recommendations. that's how i ended up getting the fortson a95x f3 smart box. pretty happy with it because it's 4K video with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. it's pretty fast and has lots of pre-installed apps. comes with miracast too so i can mirror my phone to the tv. easy set up too. i just downloaded kodi and plex apps from the playstore and i get lots of streaming movies new and old plus all the tv shows i wanna watch. i got it at 50% off at fortsontech. they cut down their prices when the lockdown started. shipping was free too but you gotta give it 2 weeks or so for delivery. peace!
