Rii MX6 not learning infrared…

Just got my second Rii MX6 remote, and again I cannot make the infrared working.
I have the version with 8 infrared buttons (orange), see below photo.

Am I doing something wrong?
- I press 3-4 sec on the orange button I want to teach – Volume UP this time
- I align the two remotes – infrared windows in front of each other
- I press on my TV remote – Volume UP also
- the MX6 led blinks twice – I guess to say it's successful?
- I try the MX6 button I just taught… not any reaction on my TV (the LED on the TV would blink)

I have a not very recent TV, Panasonic Viera 42" (TH-L42ET5A); the remote is all infrared.
I tried with other buttons (both remotes), no success.
I tried also with my music HiFi, Pioneer (HM-71-K), no success.
The white –non IR– buttons works all well.

I hated the Rii MX6 V2 (above) still sitting on a shelf being useless, it was completely wrong for my setup & the V1 is superb, tho.

So I have the same remote the first one I got from Amazon had the same issue I exchanged it and the second one worked. Probably alot of duds coming out of there factory. The remote itself is ok. I use the number pad for live channels. But lately I have to press the buttons twice for them to register. Maybe I need new batteries. If I remember correctly I don't think I could get the buttons to work with my AV receiver, just TVs

**How to process the IR learning remote control?**1.Press the Power key for 3 seconds,the LED will be on to indicatethat it has entered in learning state.2.Let the learnt remote controller’s infrared focus on the originalreceiving infrared,keep the distance as close as 1 to 3cm and thenpressing down the learnt button.3.If the learning is completed with success,the LED will flash for2 seconds and quit learning state.4.The learning state will be ended if it has not detected any infrared signal within 10 seconds.

after you get the succss blink, check to see if its emitting IR with your phone camera, it should lite up, if not send it back or try another brand, especially if you tried with another TV, I also use this , but might be over kill for your needs
