Movies play on other apps fine but not Google Play Movies which also happens to be my source for movie purchases and thus more non - MA compatible movies. Is anyone experiencing this and any solutions? Tried clearing cache, reset the app, all to no avail. Uninstalling update seem to make it work but very bad quality on movies.
Can you at least get casting to work? I tried playing a movie with "Google Play Movies & TV" app on the original Mi Box and casting from my phone. Both work just fine. If "Google Play Movies & TV" can play movies on your phone, casting should still work since it only uses Chromecast built-in on the box (unlike casting from Netflix app).
I am having the same issues. When trying to play something through Google play movies it shows a loading icon and then reverts back to the movie selection screen.

New TiVo Stream 4K guys also have the exact same issue.
Looks like Google have nerfed something with their servers.
I don't have a MiBox S but you should be able to view your Google Play Movie purchases through YouTube if you sign in with the same google account.
edit - it's under the "Library" section in Youtube in case you have trouble finding it.
