Best Free Apps from the play store (share yours)

by Darth_Haskell

As a new user, I'm loving android TV. Hoping this list will help those seeking the best free apps from the play store:

YouTube for Android TV : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.youtube.tv

Pluto TV - It’s Free TV : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tv.pluto.android

Haystack TV: Local & World News : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.haystack.android

Tubi - Free Movies & TV Shows : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tubitv

PBS : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pbs.video

PBS KIDS : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.pbskids.video

Puffin TV - Fast Web Browser : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmosa.puffinTV

Puffin is great for anything else not available. Found my local news channels on their respective websites. Now, I can watch them live without the need of a spotty antenna.

Kanopy and Hoopla are both great, if your local library subscribes to them. You can get a surprising amount of content on there, and it's free with your library card.

Wish I could get PBS here in the UK.

XUMO Tv - Basically Pluto tv but with a few different channels and not as good.

Crackle And Film Rise - Both are basically the same as Tubi but with slightly different movie and tv selections.

Vudu - They have an ad supported free section in the app.

Pokémon Tv - Contains many Pokémon episodes and a few movies if you’re like me and grew up a fan of the series.

CW Seed - A selection a shows on demand from the CW network for free.

Just Watch - Great app that tells you what shows are available on each streaming service that you have, that way you don’t need to flip between Netflix, Hulu, Amazon etc when looking for something to watch.

As a bonus, if you’re a Spectrum internet customer you get EPIX for free.

Edit: looks like the free EPIX with Spectrum internet is dead. https://www.reddit.com/r/cordcutters/comments/dk0c1v/is_epix_no_longer_free_with_spectrum_internet/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Not on the play store, but you can check out Mobdro . It has streams from all over, including big US channels.

Arguably it's shady, especially since the newer versions asks to pass data through the app and your network, which you can disable/say no.

I don't use it often, but when I do, it's not bad.

Edit: spelling

It's just a great TV/movie streaming app. There's a subreddit r/tvzionapp

The free version has adds every few hours or so, premium takes them away, but the best pert of premium is the ability to add your realdebrid or premimize to be able to stream direct downloads. Also it gives you the ability to stream torrents on the fly.

Let me know if you have any other questions

CBS News and Locast. Do check the privacy statement for Pluto TV, and the permissions it needs.

Tvzion - but just pay for the premium version! Well worth it and supporting out the dev who works tirelessly on updates!

Has anyone gotten NewsOn to work? I tried to sideload it and I get a parsing error.
