Best Android TV apps

Hi there,

What are the best apps for Android TV?

How can I get the most potential of my devices? I use SmartThings and Philips Hue as well and would be great integrate the entire ecosystem.

The best, thats opinion, and im still searching for good apps. But these are apps I use on a daily bases.

  • Tvzion in combination with MX Player
  • Send Files To Tv, send files to tv via same app on android or pc, ideal for sideloading apps
  • File Explorer, from Anker. Minimalistic, not a lot of options, no adds, clean. Install apps you transferred via previous app.
  • Airscreen, screenmirror for ios
  • Youtube Kids
  • VLC player, I use it to stream videos from my pc
  • Netflix
  • Youtube
  • TRT World
  • Blockada, free adblocker

Thats all a matter of opinion really. I have my Shield TVs set up primarily for emulators; RetroArch, Dolphin, REDREAM, FlyCast...etc. For media I use Kodi but some prefer Plex. X-plore for a file manager. For the home automation I have the Harmony hub with Alexa + Nest, Google Home, and Nest on the TV. Have fun man!
