Hi, I have a number of kodi boxes that I do not use anymore. I was wondering if anyone had tried to repurpose it as a VC unit that would use a USB webcam\Mic and TV. I'm thinking it would be handy to keep in touch. there are android clients for Webex,zoom,teams pretty much most of the vc clients.
Any thoughts as to whether this would be possible would be appreciated.
Kodi is just an app. There is no such thing as a "Kodi box". You have generic Android set-top boxes, and those are not part of the official Android TV platform.
I've been playing around with setting up Google Duo on my Shield TV after finding a version a few months back that might work. The only challenge would be a mic, so i'm guessing a microphone better than the stock one on the webcam would be needed.
My main concern is privacy with these boxes. If you are going to hook up webcams, make sure there is no spyware or apps that can compromise your privacy.
