I recently got a Xiaomi Mi Box S and I wanted to try Kodi. I installed the nolimits build and it's sooooo slow. Moving around the menus takes around 10-20 seconds from one window to the next (if not more). In my mobile (same network) works flawlessly though.
Have you noticed this?
No it’s not slow.
But load Kodi with a bunch of crap Addons and it will drag it down like a anchor.
I have the Google Play build and it's fine browsing my NAS.
Works great for me. I installed the APK from the Kodi website for 18.6 32bit.
Standard Kodi build. I only installed the PLEX add-on.
I use mostly vanilla Kodi with Plex Kodi Connect and it's fine. I'm using a Shield , but Kodi can run slowly on anything if it's bloated. https://github.com/croneter/PlexKodiConnect/wiki/Installation
I agree with the comments about the builds. Most of them start of with needlessly flashy skins and cover art and then continue to bloat with illegal add-ons that only work for 10 minutes.
If vanilla is slow, try turning off effects/ sounds etc on the stock skin.
Forget the builds!
Follow the instructions in the first item in this sub and install a couple of addons yourself.
Seren is a good start but you need to have a real debrid account and free trakt account.
the build is your problem. Kodi runs fine, all these extra garbage add-ons that people bundle into "builds" is what screws things up. Do yourself a favor and just install Kodi from the google play store - it will run just fine.
