turning the tv off does nothing to the mi box... press stop on the youtube app before shutting off the TV? or put the box to sleep.
Happened to me too a few times. I am 100% sure I did stop the video and even exited the Youtube app. Next day or hours later it was still playing Youtube videos.. That box is acting VERY weird from a security point of view. Sometimes I get duplicate IP address notifications from my security software. MiBox is the only device which does weird stuff with network. Also it have optical audio out and I can see the red LED shining against the wall and blinking/flashing in weird patterns at night when the device is turned off (put to sleep). Would love to debug it or put its traffic trough IDS or other full network analyzer. That device is sketchy and sometimes I even think its playing ads in background when turned off. But I have no proof for that. 😆
Are you leaving the Youtube app open when you turn off the TV? Are you turning off or putting to sleep your Mi Box when you turn off the TV or are you leaving it on all the time?
Edit: Besides exiting the app and putting your Mi Box to sleep or turning it off, also turn off AutoPlay in Youtube in case you forget to do the first two things.
