Dirt cheap Mi Box Ss the real deal?

by amorpheous

I've seen some Mi Box Ss going for dirt cheap on wish.com and from Chinese sellers on eBay (<£15). Are these legitimate? Why are they so cheap? They go for £40-£60 from sellers here in the UK.

Don't buy from them. I once ordered from eBay for $15 and eBay cancelled my order and blocked the seller from eBay for scamming. If you really want it you can buy the box from walmart.com, Amazon, bangood and gearbest. It was on sell at Walmart for $29.99 which ended yesterday. Currently selling for $54.

I have heard of many people falling for this. These are scammers that are usually using "stealth" PayPal accounts. The goal is simple, to get as many people as they can to fall for the scam. They will even "ship" things before they empty their accounts and move on to the next scam. Mi Boxes sell for $85 in our local Mi Store in Zimbabwe, I ended up buying from there because after factoring in duty the price of buying from China would have been close to that anyway.

But buying locally is the best. You get your Mi Box after paying if a problem develops usually the local seller is required to offer some sort of warranty. Buying online is cheap but if the box develops a fault you are required to ship it back if you want a refund. I have noticed however that sellers like banggood and Gearbest sometimes just replace the box if you send them a video but that's not guaranteed what with covid-10 wreaking havoc.

Don't you believe what your grandmother taught you? "If it sounds too good to be true...."
