I have the shield pro 2019 and sometimes when I open youtube the playback stops after one sec. Sometimes. The only fix is turn off and on the shield. Does it happens to anyone?

Happened a lot with me, ended up switching to alternate (non-official) clients for youtube
try and force quit in settings
You could try clearing the app's cache. Also look at Smart YouTube app.
