Depending on where you are, Locast may work for you.

With an Android TV product (Shield, Mi Box S, Jetstream 4K, etc.) you can get a USB ATSC tuner (Digital tuner) along with an antenna and connect that to your Android TV device. You can then use the " Live Channels " app (included with Android TV devices by default) to watch the channels and get a full guide. If you have external storage you could even use your device as a DVR.

I'm in the Austin area and can pick up 54 channels with my attic antenna (of which about 33 are English, non-duplicate, non-shop at home channels).

If by 'free' you can swing $50-$100 for hardware, just get an HDHomeRun connected to an antenna. Free from that point on.

Check https://livestream.com/watch , maybe your area has your channel there, sometimes local channels will have a Youtube Live Stream too, just search for their name or call sign and filter for live. There's a few ways you put these channels into a playlist you can then put in a player to switch channels like TV.

The easiest/most dependable way of doing this would be to get an HD antenna. I get around ~40 channels with one.

Try locast. It's free but they nag for 5 support and interrupt every 20 min or so. I used it so my girl could see the Oscars
