I've had mine since Oct last year. Turn off all automatic updates. Turn off all the recommended fluff, down the very bottom of main page. Go into App settings and go through every app, uninstall what you won't use every day. Or just delete cache and data then Force close it.
If you want to play games buy a shield.
Anyone with WiFi disconnections there is an app on the playstore by dev called Darken, one of his apps is called Wakelock revamped V3. It forces the WiFi to stay on, no more dropouts. You have enable it in the dev settings on your Mibox.
I have 7mbs dl from my old phone, 180mbs from my router on WiFi, I have no problem streaming anything, Netflix, YouTube all 4k, just the quality of the links from some sideloaded Apks I have downloaded.
My only problem is I have to re link my real debrid account every time I resume , taking it out of standby all the links need to be resolved again, bugs me I can't figure it out.
I'm gonna buy a spare one soon and throw in the drawer, works great for what I want
This thing worked fine until the Android 9 update. Now I won't wait from sleep half the time, Plex app is garbage. Casting is sporadic. I don't play any games on mine, but I'm tempted to spend $199 on the shield just to have the reliable piece of hardware.

Stop jumping over the dollar to pick up the dime. You get what you pay for, grab a used Shield TV or a new one for $149-$199, watch enough programming & it'll pay itself off a hundred times.

As long as I can use kodi and stream 4k remux files. I am happy. And it can. Dunno what others are saying that it sucks. I have nowhere near that same experience.
