Is anyone using the 2019 Shield (tube) with HDHomeRun + PVR?

I'm wondering if the SD card slot can handle the PVR functionality of HDHR.

I don't see why it wouldn't work...unless you have an ancient SD card that was really really slow...then again it probably wouldn't be large enough anyway.

Most OTA broadcasts are at most 25Mbps (I.e. ~3MB/s) and any new class 10 card will handle that no problems.

The HDHomeRun DVR checks to see if you have at least 500 GB of storage before allowing the DVR option to be toggled on. If you have a 512 GB mSD card then it might work. However, the HDHR DVR also acts as a live TV buffer, so that clients have a longer pause buffer and to enable tuner sharing (multiple clients can watch the same channel and only use one tuner), so any time someone watches something it will start a live buffer file. This means it's constantly writing to the card, which in theory means decreased lifespan vs just using it for recordings.

What do you need the PVR ability for if you're using the Android Live Channels app?
