Can anyone help? Ever since updating to Android 9 on the Mi Box S, I cannot cast to the unit any more. The unit takes a long time to appear in the device list when choosing to cast, if it appears at all, but nothing happens when I select it..??

A portion of the MiBox user base who attend to good housekeeping and maintenance standards rarely, if ever, experience issues with updates.
You almost never hear from them on this or other discussion groups.
Good practices include performing full factory reset before and after every update.
What group are you in?
You need to set it up in your settings, I had to choose a name first for it to be discoverable for me at least. But mine keeps freezing hard, like 3-5 times a day it's so damn annoying to keep getting up and resetting it.
Just delete, and reinstall via store.
Its working for me after this reinstall :)
