Which Android box do you guys recommend?

by _THE_DICKENS

Hey guys, I am not new to android tv boxes and have been using them for about 7 years. I would like to get a really good one, maybe around a $200 budget but also a bit flexible on that price. I want something that does 60fps 4k and has gigabit ethernet. Is there a model that you guys would recommend?

Thank you!

The shield is what everyone will recommend

Buy 3 units of Xiaomi MiBox S for $US50 a pop. Add powered USB/Ethernet hub ~$15 each.

Most popular official AndroidTV box on the planet.

Your prior boxes had phone/tablet android o/s layered over a mish mash of parts.

AndroidTV is designed for streaming video smoothly and uses a simple remote.

Reliable, legit AndroidTV.

I have the nVidia Shield and the Mi Box S. Both work great. I prefer the Sheild for the gigabit Ethernet connection. There is also a JetStream 4K box at WalMart with Ethernet for $70 but I haven't tried it yet.

Shield is the best one out there.

Literally everyone is going to recommend the shield.

And I agree.

Mi box 3/3S at $60 for 4K HDR 60p streaming jobs. If you want gaming and emulation Shield TV. Try first Mi Box and then if you don't like it change to Shield.

Both are certified Android TV devices by Google and are referred to official Android TV site.

Over the past couple of weeks I bought and compared the mibox s and the shield. The shield is the winner hands down. I wanted a unit for IPTV and my IPTV streams were unwatchable on the mibox with lots of buffering. 2 advantages of the shield solved my buffering problems (1) ethernet port and (2) better processor.

I paid 2000$ for a Sony Bravia TV 2 years ago, and Im already out of the update schedule for Android from Sony. So yeah, Next time Im buying a nvidia shield.

I know that everyone says the Shield is the top dog - I got two of these on sale last month and could not be happier.

My Hisense H9F main TV has Android TV 8.0 and it's Beelink GT King companion box has Android 9.0. Each platform is purpose specific. There are also pluses and minuses on both.

Now that it is becoming easier to add .apk's to ATV I think I am going to regroup and get a Shield Pro and start moving to a Plex system.

I have the Xiaomi Mi Box and love it. It is 4K and very cheap. It just updated to Android TV 9.0.

The current Nvidia Shield Pro fits your bill. If the price is still a concern, you can try going for the Mi Box S.
