Anyone use the DirecTV/AT&T Now updated remote (RC81V ) with another AndroidTV device?

This remote seems to check a lot of boxes. Just wondering your experiences. The pairing from the user manual looks a bit specific to the box. https://fccid.io/MG3-R35602/User-Manual/User-Manual-4107956.pdf

I love my harmony hub + remote but no mic on the unit is a downfall

Well, I bought one. I'll report back with my findings.

Ok. Update. I received my remote. Below are the results and my thoughts:

The good:

First, it's an absolutely high quality feeling remote with a rubberized premium feel and backlighting. I saw someone note that the D-PAD was just a touch low and hard to feel in the dark and I would agree. However, that is being very picky.

I followed the instructions in the manual I posted and held the rewind and FFwd buttons for a few seconds. The remote's blue led's began flashing. I then went to my Shield's Searching for Devices Bluetooth screen and the remote showed up as R6 and paired easily after selecting.

Most of the buttons mapped as you would expect. The remote was able to be used to navigate the interface.

The bad:

Only Most of the buttons mapped as you would expect.

I used Button Mapper to look at the Android keycodes for each button. For instance, the D-Pad mapped properly to its Android key KEY_DPAD_LEFT, etc. . However for a large number of the buttons the KEYCODE was not able to be detected. They were detected by Android as Button Mapper prompt flashed but did not receive any code.

I am hoping that could be remedied somehow. Perhaps by acquiring the keyboard layout .kl files from the actual box.

Interestingly, some were mapped to strange keys. The Channel Up mapped to KEY_CALCULATOR.

The Volume keys seemed fixed to the IR (did not respond in Android) to whatever TV device was programmed.

Lastly, the Assistant key mapped properly and pulled up the Assistant voice search but the mic does not work.

Final Take:

This could be a great remote for AndroidTV if I could figure out how to map the remaining buttons to things like Live TV, Guide, Channel Up etc.
