Honestly the box had great potential (when released) but channel master didn't have the resources to make it a full fledged streaming box. As a TV tuner it's not bad but for streaming between the chip that struggles with 4k and Netflix not supported (Netflix seems to feel CM doesn't have the following worth it's effort) and still being stuck on old versions of Android TV.
Technically, that's a Technicolor box called the "Skipper" and it's been used by a bunch of operators.
And some of them (Telecom Italia, YES in Israel) got the Oreo update.
So I guess it's up to CM to find the money to update the device with Technicolor, it's never done for free.
