whats the correct resolution for 4K on Xiaomi Mi Box S

by levalencia30

I bought this box on december together with a new monitor:

https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B07GLR6RQF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It worked perfectly for 2 weeks until I noticed the stremed content was not 4K, just HD.

So I changed the settings on the display menu to 4k-2k at 30fps, after I did that the screen flickered and had no error., so I restarted netflix and still the same problem.

So I decided to Turn OFF the box and Turn it on again, after I did that, the box didnt boot Again.

I contacted Amazon and I returned the box, the refunded me the money and I bought it again.

Any tips so this doesnt happen again? Or maybe I had just bad luck with this unit? and it shouldnt fail again

I have it on 4k-2k 60p. My problem altough is, that it resets itself to 1080i 60p. But this is maybe a beta problem.

The thing is that the box can't handle 4k 60 FPS very well. I get every now and then framedrops in Netflix and prime video.. I just changed to 1080p 60 fps

I would run it at 4K 60

Wow that's a nice expensive monitor. It probably was a bad box. Usually the flicker could be on bad HDMI connection or a handshake issue with the monitor. See if a good High Speed HDMI Cable helps. I use monoprice certified high speed cable. Very rarely i see flicker/green screen. The issue is resolved by pulling the cable out and inserting it back again. We use the same cable to plug the switch to game sometimes. The hdmi cable connector is slightly small and does not have a snuggle fit.

I received yesterday the same box, I did the same and then the screen went black again, I put the box on another 22 monitor and it works, so I reset the resolution to 720 and connected back to the new monitor and it works, 4k at 60h doesn't work, at the end I left it at auto
