Where the hell are my apps?

by vaderag

Just got a brand new TV (Philips 903) with Android TV Pre. the update to 8 i had BBC iPlayer listed installed and in the store

Updated and the app was broken so uninstalled and now it's nowhere to be seen

Went into the store and there's next to nothing there from the UK. No iPlayer, no 4oD, no ITV etc

They are supposed to be there, I don't know why they're not but it's driving me insane

It seems I can't even download files to sideload etc

Please help, driving me insane

Most likely you need to reset the TV to get them back, those apps are probably exclusive to Phillips TVs and are not generally available in Play Store.

Yeah, got a Philips PUS7303, and it's shit. The Google Play store is heavily restricted. No way to download files on Android 8, and can't find any other way to sideload. Plus, they screwed up the headphones output so that you have to go into a menu to adjust volume. If it wasn't for the cheap price, and no better alternative, I'd send it back.

I just put my apk in google drive. Installed x-plore from the Google store Added in security & restrictions x-plore to unknown apps allow In x-plore I added my Google drive in web storage. And installed apps outside of the play store

Ow and maybe install sideload launcher from the play store.

Bit delayed response here as my notifications stopped working but I ended up getting a fire TV stick... The software on Phillips TV is terrible, factory reset did nothing for me and the whole system is rubbish
