Is there any Android TV that supports sound via USB? I have a Steelseries head set that connects wirelessly to a DAC which in turn connects to the computer via USB and that provides power and both the input and output for audio (so, headphones and mic). I can plug the DAC to an Nvidia shield and that works but I tried the same on a Hisense H9F and it didn't work at all there.
Does anyone know if there is a TV that would work with Audio via USB? Would there be mic drivers as well if an application supported audio input? I ask this mostly thinking about Stadia and other game streaming platforms that are coming, it would be nice to be able to run those games straight up from the TV and have the full support for communication right there too, all dependent on 1 usb cable.
If there is nothing of the sort I'd probably just get some cheaper bluetooth headset and move on with my life but if I could make use of the headset I already have... that would be ideal.
The underlying Linux Kernel on any Android TV device/TV would first need to support a specific USB DAC.
And only v4.9 onwards that comes with Oreo onwards might come with that sort of support.
Then you need OS and Android TV settings custom audio routing support and I cannot see any TV manufacturer doing that sort of unnecessary work.
TV profit margins are simply to thin to do anything extra than the bare necessities.
Good luck with the hunt.
