I own a shield already but need a box that won't break the bank and is wife approved for a 1080p bedroom TV. Which one do you recommend ? I own the first gen Mi Box and it was fine until it recently croaked . I'm using Roku now but it misses a few things that I need on Android TV. A deciding factor can be the remote if I can program one for my TV.
Jetstream if you want more ports, Mi Box S if you want more updates.
The Jetstream has pretty much every port you might need. It has an Ethernet port, Optical Audio, 2 USB ports, a MicroSD slot and a slightly better remote.
Both have the same processor and same amount of ram. Both are fully certified boxes (Netflix and everything). Both are relatively snappy, but the Jetstream feels just a little bit snappier. Both come with Android 8, but the Mi Box S gets more updates.
I have the Jetstream and it has been great. It has received only one update (as far as I know), but it is very stable and everything works as intended. Never had a single problem with it. Paid $46 for mine, several months ago.

I have a shield in living room and a fire TV stick which is not cutting it so mi box s replaes it in bedroom
If you have ethernet wired in the bedroom you should consider the Jetstream.
I would go with the Mi Box S just due to their market share and continued updates of Google TV O/S. I have no issues with any of mine.
